Kite-surfing is become
more and more popular in Cabarete. The beach is located about 1/2
(800m) mile from the bay of Cabarete. 3 schools are offering rental
and lessons.
Surfing
Playa Encuentro, only
five minutes from Cabarete, is unanimously considered the best place
to surf on the north coast. Surfing is becoming increasingly popular
in Cabarete. More and more businesses offer boards to rent and
shuttles to various surf spots, some also offer professional lessons.
Mountain Biking
Mountainbiking is
another way to discover the beauty of the country, several marked
trails line the countryside.
Scuba Diving
Local schools organize
beautiful dives. For beginners, it is really one of the best place to
learn how to dive.
Horseback riding
The equestrian will not
be disappointed in Cabarete given there are several ranches to choose
from offering horseback rides on the beach and through the mountains
where the views will leave you breathless.
Water-skiing and
wake-boarding
The wild quiet river of Yassica (3 kilometers from Cabarete) give
great
fine opportunities to practice wakeboard and water ski. The best time
is in the morning when there is no wind.

riding
Drive deep in the
country side crossing river, driving trough huge sugarcane fields and
seeing native, Dominican villages.
Golf
4 kilometers from Cabarete, the beginners can play in
a nine holes golf course. For regular players, at 40 kilometers from
Cabarete, you have the 18 holes Jack Tar village gold course (Puerto
Plata) and at 45 kilometers, the 18 holes Playa Grande gold course,
located right on the sea cliff
